And many thanks to YOU for me having a freezer full of beef/chicken/veggie stocks, and some home-cured bacon (from the local Farmer's Mkt. of course!) in the fridge, and some great reference books in the cupboard!! Merry Christmas!

Merry Christmas, Michael! I got Ratio for Christmas last year, and made your pancakes today (but not for the first time, of course). Thanks for the website, and best wishes in the new year.

Michael an Donna,
Thank you for all that you do to enhance our lives. Amazing recipes, great food (that I can make in my home), visually stunning pictures, and most of all... stories of life. The talents that you two bring to the table combine to create wonderful things in our lives. Micheal, you bring the words. Donna, you bring the images. Together they just pop. Thank you!
Kristin
Happy Holidays!

Merry Christmas guys...and a very prosperous New Year. It is always a treat and an education to tune in and see what you guys are up to.
Keep up the good work I appreciate it very much.

Happy Xmas to you and yours.... Just finished "Making of a Chef", enjoyed it a lot and as an older culinary student (Le Cordon Bleu) after many year's in the field, it was a fun read and spot on.... Yes, you're right, the culinary field is a "particular one full of quirky people who must be masochistic".... but food does make my world turn so I am here, always looking forward to learning more....
Would you be interested in including my blog amongst those listed on your site? I specialize in the old Mexican cuisine (the one with too many ingredients and too much labor) which we are loosing because no one wants to work that hard.... but I cook global and can appreciate every nuance and surprise. If you ever need an intern (I need to start planning my externship too), let me know.... Have a great New Year everyone!!!!

Food and Christmas go together as well as you writing and Donna's images. Looking forward to more inspiration from you both in 2011.

Nice cabbage slicer, I have never had success making good saurkraut, perhaps next year.
Thank you for the wonderful blog and all the great, pictures, books and recipes. A sip of aged eggnog in your honor with a wish of all the best for the coming new year. Happy holidays, love, good health and good food to all!

And here I thought I was the only one that considered my great grandma's cabbage slicer as a family heirloom! Am lucky enough to have the crock as well. Better than jewels. All the best for the new year!
