Menu for Hope

Published: Dec 11, 2007 ยท Modified: Dec 11, 2007 by Michael Ruhlman ยท 11 Comments

I'm happy to be joining the annual efforts among bloggers and readers to raise money to alleviate hunger, with an offer of a personalized copy of The Elements of Cooking (should I include in the deal pigs' ears and Great Lakes dortmunder at Lolita with that?!  you'd have to be in Cleveland!)  Code is UE43.

To find out more, go to Chez Pim's donation page.

Here's a link to the donation site.

To Enter

If you're interested in buying into the raffle, here's what you need to do:

1. Choose a prize or prizes of your choice from our Menu for Hope at http://www.chezpim.com/blogs/2007/12/menu-for-hope-4.html

2. Go to the donation site at http://www.firstgiving.com/menuforhope4 and make a donation.

3.  Please specify which prize you'd like in the 'Personal Message' section in the donation form when confirming your donation. You must write-in how many tickets per prize, and please use the prize code. Example:

Basic Order

Each $10 you donate will give you one raffle ticket toward a prize of your choice.  For example, a donation of $50 can be 2 tickets for EU01 and 3 tickets for EU02. Please write 2xEU01, 3xEU02. Example:

Advanced Order

4. If your company matches your charity donation, please check the box and fill in the information so we could claim the corporate match.

5. Please check the box to allow us to see your email address so that we can contact you in case you win. Your email address will not be shared with anyone.

Check back on Chez Pim on Wednesday, January 9  for the results of the raffle.

Thanks for your participation, and good luck in the raffle!

I'm looking forward to entering - I have friends in Dayton who'd probaby be happy to make a pilgrimage to lolita in Cleveland.

BTW: I assume this is just a temporary hiccup, but as of this typing, the BLOG appears to be BROKEN ... all other entries prior to latest one are suddenly missing, as are all the weblinks on the right pane.

Ok, I put in for 2 tickets to Blue Hill (UE01). Doubt I'll win, but hey ... it's for a good cause.

This is a great cause, and I'm so glad to see there's now a Ruhlman prize up for bids!

Like rockandroller, I placed a few bids yesterday. But I could be lured into placing a few more bids if you upped the ante to include lunch at Skyline Chili ๐Ÿ˜€

Of course, if you can get Iron Chef Symon to donate a Great Lakes Dortmunder, that might work, too...

    A great thing, indeed, Ruhlman!

You probably already know about this, but I thought I'd let you know about an annual event around the country called "Dining Out For Life". It raises money for AIDS charities and our local Thursday night dining group has been participating for the past three years. If you like, you can find out more at http://www.diningoutforlife.com/.

    Be well!

    Yours,
    Dave

Great cause! Thanks for sharing! How about a second prize of a personalized taunt @ Tony? I split my tickets between your book and cassolete. Make the lunch optional at the winner's expense (at least travel).
    Cheers

I might put in for a few more TX, as time permits.

I'll probably be looking to go to blue hill anyway, regardless of the outcome. My backup choices for reservations will probably be either Prune, Degustation, or WD-50.

Just had to personally apologize for typing Bourdain instead of Ruhlman today on the Food Forum at Cleveland.com.

Even beekeepers make mistakes! Hope you will forgive me, Michael!

See you at the Shaker Market (by the way, it began "indoors" last saturday) and will continue every saturday AM from 9-Noon until March 22nd.

Hope to catch up with you then!
